if ITE is so good, please start to send all your kids there next time. I would like to see all your kids inside ITE even if they can go to JC.

thinger SG

while i dont believe ite people are bad, i'll admit that perhaps some have a really bad attitude. but wouldnt you think, that all this public dissing of them (and having some jackarses agree) contribute to a really low self esteem etc etc so they dont feel warm and fuzzy?

which would maybe explain why they dont care about the people around them in the subway and on buses and in public. you diss them, you ridicule them, and you're so locked into your warped perception of them that there's nothing they can do about it. because whatever they do isn't gonna change your mind because youve already made up your mind.

so why should they bother respecting anyone, if no one respects them?

on the point of the government being elitist, its true. and it sucks.

thinger SG

if my kids had a great interest in something there, i'd let them.

codename4 SG

good luck to those who want to send their kids into ITE. But talk is cheap.

dragg SG

fireice should close this thread.

the arguments are very boliao.

fai SG

this is one of the reason i stop paying premier membership Laughing

tortoise55 SG

so now you are blaming the govt for creating an eilte mindset in you, and so thats why people in sg are being influenced to think that eilte is the best?

tsk tsk Twisted Evil

how many times have we seen people who invented some inventions and gotten an award are those who come from the 'so-called stupied' people or ITE people? And where the 'so-called eilte' people? Cant think, cos they spent too much brain cells on how to be elite

thinger SG

well considering its highly probably that most parents want their kids to do what they want to and what they're good at, i see no harm at all in them pursuing what they want, if its what they actually want.

unless of course, you're trying to say its a bad place and anyone going there should be condemned.

tortoise55 SG

That was what he was trying to mean, going to ITE mean the people are condemned.

codename4 SG

ITE = Its The End.

jam on a bread SG

Well, it's kinda true that ppl who goes ITE are condemned. I mean look at how ppl here keep emphasizing how bad ITE is. I mean..why are they like this?

Simple. The school/rules/society brainwashes us.

take for example, my ex classmate who was from ITE came back to visit the school, the teachers there were giving her the 'i-look-down-on-you' looks. She is a very nice girl unlike some ppl. And also, there was once my teacher likes to degrade ppl by telling them to go ITE and forget abt studying. I mean Singapore is so realistic, you see magazines featuring ppl from high institute e.g raffles etc. never from ITE/private schools. I mean..our education system is always abt book smarts (they place it first among others) so ppl tend to not look towards ppl who are academically weaker. I still remember a paragraph in the mag saying that one ITE wanted to offer some kind of award to an A star actress but she declined. Ashame? Sigh, that's how sg works..

Gazette05 SG

I believe the point is that you should not slam people based on their qualifications alone. I think it is very very unfair to stereotype someone based on his institute of education.

You want to go ahead with this myopic view of yours, go ahead. When you get beaten up, do not say you have not been warned. That time, just tell yourself you deserved it. Rolling Eyes

Anyone would have beaten you up, irregardless of whether he/she is from JC/ITE/Poly/Uni.

musashi79 SG

ur english is worst than mine. high tech it stuff are written in my interest not my job. i'm not selling those but i like to own the latest stuff... u r worst than an ITE student who can't even tell the diff between interest and job...

12k per mth is alot??? maybe to a better education ppl like u but not me.

i like to see those nice condo and bunglow and its my interest. guess u dun even know where Green Wood terrace house is or district 9-11... just the master bedroom is likely bigger than u house.

owning 2 cars in not uncommon in singapore and u dun need to be famous in sg to own 2 cars. who much is 330 now? only 200K+- and rx8? 118k only.

u think thats a lot??? then u must be those stay at home study hard to get good grade but dun know anything much in real world.

u can't afford doesn't means other can't.

and

HIGH EDUCATION DOESN'T = HIGH PAY IN THIS WORLD.

vito_corleone SG

if it were so easy to make money without studying hard, government scholars, including sm goh and all the pap croonies at the top would not have worked their arses off just to get a scholarship into the gov sector and draw million dollar salaries every year Laughing

codename4 SG

Next time when there is an interview with doctors, lawyers, bankers, top civil servants, teachers etc, we can count how many are ITE grads.

The answer is ZERO.

with this kind of special results, how can one even respect an ITE grad?

Next, look at the number of ITE grads representing Singapore in international games, even SPORTS, ITE pple cannot make it.

codename4 SG

what to do? There are pple from ITE who likes to console themselves by saying ITE is good mah. So we should ask ministers kids to enrol in ITE loh.

codename4 SG

NO ITE is good for business, sadly.

With ITE cert, u most probably becomes account assistant with $800 a month while NUS grads get $5000 a month.

Dont envy them. ITs your choice to go ITE and get that $800.

codename4 SG

The way u portray yourself here is seriously pathetic. When one starts to talk about how rich he is etc etc online, it just means how insecure and useless his real life is.

icYwATeR SG

Guys please dont compare ite/poly/jc together,as a human being would you like to be compared?im sure the ans is a "No".
let me made an example:IF i will to compare you will bill gate and bill gate earn more than you,can i say youre stupid?
Its the same logic

markzz SG
